Our History

Flying School History Blue Chip Aviation was established as a flying school in 1996. The company has enjoyed exponential growth, and now occupies most of the first floor of the main terminal building at Pretoria’s Wonderboom Airport. We can proudly say that today we are one of the biggest and most professional flying schools in South Africa. The reasons why we chose Wonderboom Airport as our base of operations are that:
A major factor in our growth is that all our instructors have good “people skills” – they know and understand the needs of their students. Our fleet of aircraft is maintained by a certified AMO, to the stringent requirements laid down by the aircraft manufactures and the South African Civil Aviation Authority. Our fleet consists mainly of Cessna 172 (click here to view our fleet) Our students come from all walks of life, such as community farmers in remote areas who need to visit town or their other properties with the minimum waste of time, professional and business people with interests in diverse parts of the country, and recreational flyers. Numerous Blue Chip Aviation students are today employed as pilots by local and international airlines as well as in various other positions in the aviation industry. Students also come to us from abroad to complete their training. So why not visit us for a cup of coffee and discuss your future training prospects? We don't make promises we cannot keep. Our logo states: “We are big enough to compete yet small enough to care.” At Blue Chip you become part of the family, not just another student passing through. |
